Diane C. Nicholson

Diane is a freelance writer as well as a photographer and has had several pieces published in the Vancouver Sun, 4 stories in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, many articles in magazines, and is working on a book around the births and deaths of her twin sons, Joshua and Cole.

Because of the grief that needed to be dealt with when Josh and Cole died, Diane realized the need for a children's book that would help kids deal with the death of a sibling or friend.  Tired of hearing people either try to hide the grief from kids (impossible) or have them deal with it according to social norms, the book that Diane wrote encourages children to trust themselves.

A large part of Diane's philosophy includes animal rights, and many of her articles mirror that.  Finally 11 years ago, she realized that if she truly loved animals and if she honestly believed in living a life of non-violence and cruelty-free, she could not support the industries that cause animals so much suffering and our beleaguered Earth so much harm; especially for products that are at best unnecessary, and at worst, harmful to humans.  So she and her husband, Harry, have lived a Vegan lifestyle (no animal products including milk and eggs) since.
