What drives an artist?  Passion...  Each of us possesses passion for our own life goals, our soul's work, our reason for living on Earth.  Each of us is an artist and our chosen medium reflects our passion.  For some, art shines in their children; for others, it is in their careers or volunteer work.

If you ask Diane what her passion is, she'll tell you that it is to do all she can to bring justice to our world.  Justice for all, including the non-human animals-- not just those that we call companions, but each species, every individual that feels pain, loneliness, anger, terror and love.

She does this in three ways-- as a writer, as a photo-artist, and  as an animal rescuer.  Known for finding the very soul of her subject, transposing it through the lens and then onto paper, Diane works hard to show others the beauty that she sees in every living creature.  She finds many opportunities to photograph animals, even, or perhaps especially, at her own home.  Many of these animals are rescued and include dogs, cats, horses, birds (even a starling) and rabbits.  Each is an integral part of her family. 

Of course, she also has a human family; her very supportive husband, Harry, to whom she has been married since 1974 and two grown sons, Jordan (who owns CJN Productions, a video production business) and Ben (the photographer who took the accompanying photo).  In 1983 Harry and Diane gave birth to twin sons, Joshua Cade and Cole Stuart, only to watch them die because both had been born without kidneys.  That devastating yet transforming experience was the catalyst that finally began Diane's writing career.  And when her photography business was started in 1987, it seemed obvious that it should be named, Twin Heart Photo Productions. 
The lessons inherent in the twins' birth and death, find their way into each day of Diane's life and into every one of her pieces of art.
